According to a 1900 census in Clay Co. Arkansas, my gr grandmother, Lizzie, was born about 1872. The reason I asked about a Lonnie and Elbert Cruce which another researcher says she found in another census is because Lizzie Cruce who married Sam Hardy had two sons whom she named Lonnie and Elbert Hardy. I thought that Lonnie and Elbert Cruce might be related some way. Sam Hardy was from Fulton Co. Kentucky and Lizzie Cruce was born in Tennessee; I don't know which county, but I do know that a lot of Cruces were from Obion Co. Tennessee and that the some of the Hardy's moved from Obion Co. TN to Fulton Co. Kentucky. I feel that there is a probable connection between your Elizabeth J. Cruce and my Elizabeth Jane "Lizzie" Cruce since they lived in the same proximity. Do you live in Fulton Co? Do you have the resources in order to check on the marriage of Samuel Hardy to Lizzie Cruce 26 December 1885 in Obion Co. Tennessee? Sam and Lizzies children were Bessie, Anna, Pearl, Lonnie and Elbert Hardy. Some of the children were born in Kentucky and some were born in Tennessee. Who are the siblings of your Elizabeth J. Cruce? Have you ever heard of a Press Cruce?
Press Cruce also married a Hardy from Fulton Co. Kentucky. Did any of your Cruces move to Arkansas?
