My husband says the name Agnes Cruikshank is familiar. As I stated, my husband's father was born in Union Island (p/o St. Vincent's and the Grenadines - Just north of Trinidad and Tobago), and his grandmother's maiden name was Cruikshank. Union Island is just a few hours boat trip from Trinidad and Tobago and he is certain that this is the correct family, as it was not uncommon to intermarry between these islands. He says he will listen to a tape he made of his father to see whether he can glean anything else.He also believes the Cruickshanks were somehow related to Grantley Adams, first Prime Minister of Barbados. He said his father used to visit them in Barbados, and the relationship was on his mother's (Cruickshank) side.
Regards
Barbara
