"Monroe Township Cemeteries" (Cadiz, Ohio: Harrison County Genealogical Society, 2000, 176 pp.) contains tombstone inscriptions compiled by OGS chapter members (and incorporating previously published readings for some cemeteries). I first consulted this publication in 2006 and found that Finley Crumrine was not listed.I have now looked more closely at both Plum Run and Tunnel Hill cemeteries to see if any other Crumrines are.Plum Run #1 is Plum Run Hilltop Cemetery, located a quarter mile north of Plum Run Methodist Church. It contains the graves of Henry C. Crumrine (d. 23 Jul 1891, Aged 72y 2mo 2d) his wife Mary (d. 28 Mar 1884, Aged 63y) and some members of their family. Plum Run #2 is situated around the church itself. It contains a grave marked "James T. A. Crumrine, d. 14 Jul 1883, Aged 1mo 26d, Son of F.C. & M."This I am assuming was an infant son of Finley and Mahala, their second child, born during a four year gap between their first surviving child and their next surviving child. Plum Run is located in the southwest part of Monroe Township adjacent to Franklin Township; its post office was listed as Tappan, Ohio, the village in Franklin where Finley and Mahala lived.Tunnel Hill Cemetery is in the northwest part of Monroe surrounding Tunnel Hill Community Chapel, a re-opened EUB church. It contains the grave of Rebecca Crumrine (d. 3 Oct 1889, Aged 51y 5m).Diana Miller had identified her to me as Henry Crumrine's second wife. The first wife (Mary) died in 1884; Henry lived until 1891.These are all the Crumrine graves transcribed in the "Monroe Township Cemeteries" book. Diana Miller said in 2006 that both cemeteries then contained numerous missing or unreadable stones, and that she recalled seeing one for Finley years earlier while looking for her Miller ancestors.I notice Tunnel Hill was one of the cemeteries that had an earlier reading (in 1961). The book gives a page and a half of transcriptions that were read in 1961 but were not found in 1998; Finley Crumrine is not included in that list either. So, if Finley were originally at Tunnel Hill, perhaps his marker was already gone or had become unreadable by 1961.But I'm now thinking that Plum Run might have been the more logical site: it's closer to Tappan and it's where Finley and Mahala had buried their (presumed) infant son when he died.
