Hi Joanne.I am the neighbor of Ayres McElfresh who is related to some of the people you mention in your GenForum post.He visited us this morning and asked me to try to find some information for him.His
cousin was Franklin Cruzan, whose mother was the Rose you mention.
Apparently, Franklin (Ayres was unsure if this was the true first name of his cousin, or just the name he went by), was killed when his ship was fired on by the Germans. The ship, the Rueben James, was the first ship sunken by the Germans immediately prior to WW2.Ayres is in possession of some pictures and special belongings of Franklin and would
like to find Franklin's son or other immediate family members.Ayres does not own a computer, but you could ommunicate with him through me, if you like.....or..... contact me and I will send you his mailing address and telephone number.
I know that he would appreciate any information you might have that would help him send these things to Franklin's family.
Thank you!
