Andrew Jackson Cryer, 96 of Groves, Texas died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at his residence.
Andrew was born on December 12, 1908 in Leesville, Louisiana to William Riley Cryer and Missouri Whitley Cryer.He was a resident of the Groves area for 68 years and was a longtime member of Groves United Pentecostal Church.He was a retired pipefitter from Texaco refinery with 48 years of service.He was a member of the Texaco Luncheon Club and an avid gardener, fisherman and carpenter.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2005 at Groves United Pentecostal Church with Rev. David Myer officiating.Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Orange, Texas under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2005 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Andrew was preceded in death by his first wife, Alvis Cryer; son, Arvin Cryer; grandson, Jeff Campbell; and step-son Ricky Chardin.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Chardin Cryer of Groves, TX; daughters, Margie Campbell and husband, Tommy of Orange, TX, Morma Brannan and husband, Ken of Nederland, TX; stepdaughers, Dianne Osborne and husband, Robert of Groves, TX, Judy Ables and husband, Joe of Austin, TX, Betty Chardin of Groves, TX, Mary Chardin and Roger Osborn of Lumberton, TX; stepsons, Larry Chardin, David Chardin and wife, Mary Ann all of Austin, TX, Sheldon Chardin and wife, Paula of Groves, TX; Timothy Chardin of Groves, TX: sister, Ola Self of Leesville, LA; 27 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
