Cryer and Crews in Goldthwaite, Mills County, TX 1892-1919
I am a TXGenWeb Volunteer and would like to put this Information on the Mills County TXGenWeb page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~txmills/http://www.rootsweb.com/~txmills/I am not related to this person.Maybe someone on this forum can help me find some information.
I found some information on an Eva Lou Cryer on the WorldConnect GED Project but the person and the information is no longer availible.Below is part of the email I tried to send to that person.
I am trying to get as many of the 1918-1919 deaths in Mills County or had lived in or came from Mills County from newspapers and other means, not that many were reported in our county. Reviewing newspaper for that era, I noticed there were a considerable amount of sudden or influenza deaths written about and never recorded at the courthous, so I am also trying to determine how many died of Influenza or pneumonia.
I came across a Newspaper article/notice about Mrs. Norton Crews,Nee Cryer, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs H. M. Cryer.Mrs. Crews died in Overton, TX and as far as I can surmised from the date of the paper, she died Thursday Jan 16, 1919 and her body was expected to come into Goldthwaite on Jan 18, 1919 the date of the paper. The article left a lot of information out, such as burial location or cause of death.I found that Mr. E. N. Crews married again in Mills County after the death of Eva Cryer.
I checked the county rriage index and found that a E.N. Crews married an Eva Cryer.
Our Mills County Historical Commission surveyed all the cemeteries and burial locations in Mills County and there was no listing for her,However there is a Cryer Cemetery that has two field stones marking graves but all is known about this cemetery is that they were part of the Cryer family.
Thanks for any help
Sharon
