Alter / Belgrod (Belgrade) POL>CT

Seeking info on ANY Alters, anywhere but ... my husband's grt grt grt grandparents were from Mlawa, Poland. This is what little I know so far: (spellings phoenetic)

Abram and Frymet Alter had a son Yhatskiel Alter b. 1859 Mlawa. I do not know who Yhatskiel Alter married but he had at least 2 sons at Mlawa:David Naftuly Alter b. 8/15/1888 and Henry Alter.

David Naftuly moved to US and entered through the port at St Albans, VT as a young man. He would have come via Canada. He traveled south and boarded with a Jewish family in New London, Connecticut. He married 3/7/1916 to the owners' daughter, Clara Belgrade (Belgrod) who had been b. 12/15/1898 Kiev, Poland [Russia].

I do not know if David came alone or with family. He is know to have had a brother, Henry who enlisted in WWI as a resident of New York. I have nothing further on Henry.
