There is a book on the history of Fairfield
County. I haven't seen it in years, but I,m
sure Maria is mentioned. I believe her father is my great-great grandfather, David
H. Valden. And yes, he did own a tannery.
If I can locate the book or any more infor-mation, I will post it.
