William Hart, b 1717, d 1799 in PA
Posted by: Mike Thorne Date: April 07, 1999 at 20:25:36

Seeking information on William HART, b 1717, died 1799 in Bedford (now Fulton) Co, PA. Wife may have been named Rebecca, b 1723. One family Bible suggests the family may have originated in Ireland (was recorded by William's grgrgrandson so accuracy is unknown). A biography of one of his grgrandsons said the family the family had come from CT to PA then OH. Family lore has been that the HART's were from England. Either way, CT may well have been their first home in the colonies.

I have many of William's (1717) descendants, and am willing to share, but have not found his origins. William's birth year is from his tombstone and, as he was surrounded by an extended family at his death, I assume they ensured the information was accurate.

Am open to suggestions or ideas and will provide more information. Thanks for your help!
