Thank you! Yes, I would appreciate haring from you after you ask your older Cubbins relatives about their family history. Here is what is known already. A man named William Cubbins showed up on Dry Creek prior to 1840 and married Unicey (Eunice) Braswell. They had three children: John Emery Cubbins, Paralee Cubbins, and Jane Cubbins. John Emery Cubbins is most likley the ancestor of all the people named Cubbins who live at or near Dry Creek, Dowelltown, Dekalb County TN. The estate of a man named William Cubbins was probated in DeKalb County TN court on Dec. 2, 1848 with an award made to his widow "Nicey" Cubbins. Therefore, William Cubbins is not the same as the later [John] Emery Cubbins. The big question that we Cubbins descendants have is - - who was William Cubbins and where did he come from and who were his parents?
