As Cubbin here in Australia, we had trouble finding our ancestors, and could only trace them clearly to Liverpool, then only hints of Isle Of Man.
We know that the name originated there, but finally found our Alexander in Whitehaven. Try these areas, as they apparently nearlly always went and settled on the mainland coast.
