I have recently acquired a birth certificate of an Edward Cudd, born in Duddeston, Aston, Birmingham, on 22/3/1852, with parents James Cudd and Eleanor Cudd, formerly Dignam. James is listed as a thimble maker and died later the same year, on 7/8/1852, aged 36. Mavis, you state that Joseph Cudd's parents were James Cudd and Helen Dignam; I'm thinking therefore that Edward is a brother of Joseph who must have been born prior to 1852? I also have the marriage certificate of a Mary Cudd, born 1846, daughter of a James Cudd; possibly the same James?
Bernard, I have a lot of information about my Cudd lines in Birmingham; in a separate mail I'll pass on some of the info. I have!
