I am the son of Albert E. Culverwell, born 9 Dec 1910 in Port Jervis, NY; died 1 Aug 1964 in Pittsfield, MA. My grandfather was Albert Edwin Culverwell, b. 2 Jun 1876 in Ontario, Canada; died 19 Feb 1954 in Pittsfield, MA. My grandmother was Lillian B. Heater, b. Apr 1886 in Matamoras, Pike, PA; died 26 Oct 1918 in Port Jervis, NY.

Albert Edwin's father was Thomas Culverwell, b. 15 May 1835 in Toronto, Canada; died 20 Mar 1924 in Pittsfield, MA. Thomas was the son of Robert Culverwell, who was born 22 Jan 1800 in England and died 4 Nov 1883 in New Market, Ontario, Canada, and Charlotte Rose Moore, b. 1807 in England, died 18 Feb 1854 in New Market.

Albert Edwin's mother was Mary Ann Walters, b. 1843. I have no other information about her.

Lillian Heater's parents were David Heater and Jane ? David was born Jul 1833 in PA, and died Jul 1920 in Sawkill, Ulster, NY. Jane ? was born May 1840 in PA.

My father had a brother, George Harvey, born 15 Sep 1912 in Port Jervis, NY; and died 13 Jan 2003 in Pittsfield, MA.
His sister, Charlotte, was born 7 Feb 1915 in Port Jervis, and died 29 Dec 1985 in Pittsfield, MA. Another sister, Bertha, was born 12 Nov 1917 and died 26 Nov 1917 in Port Jervis.

I am very interested in obtaining more information about the Culverwells, like what brought them to Canada, why did they emigrate to the U.S., and why Port Jervis, NY and Pittsfield, MA?

Any light you can shed on this would be gratefully appreciated.
