There are quite of few Culwell's in this area. I live in Weatherford, Tx. which is just up the way from Springtown. The Culwell's moved into this area in fall of 1854 from Collin County Tx. There were three cousins that married into the Allen Family. William Allen married Mary Ann Culwell, daughter of Thomas Culwell and Eliza Jones. John Perry Allen married Martha Culwell, daughter of Hezekiah Culwell and Mary Ann ?????. Pleasant Tackitt Allen married Martha Caldwell, daughter of Francis M. Caldwell and Phoebe Williams. Pleasant and Martha are my ggrandparents. We have had several meetings with several of the Culwell group here in Weatherford. The Culwell/Allen's settled in Goshen which is west of Springtown. The Methodist church and cemetery is all that is left. Hezekiah keep a journal about their travels. Lorene Reid has done extensive research on this family. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/r/e/i/Lorene-H-Reid/GENE1-0001.html.
