Cumberledge in Brave

I recently found the grave of Edna C. Cumberledge 1900-1904 in Freeland Cemetery in Brave. She was only a few feet from John Freeland and Minerva Cleavenger, my ggg grandparents. Since it is a family cemetery, I wonder what the connection is between the Freeland and Cumberledge families. Further research shows that Lela Cumberledge 1906-1912 is also listed in that cemetery as well as John Freeland's grandson Edward Whitehill, aged 4 mos. I was unable to find those graves because the cemetery is so overgrown it is impossible to walk more than a few feet without having to break through thorned branches. I'd like to return with the proper tools but I live in Florida and can only make it up there once every year or two. If anyone knows the connection between these two families, the information would be greatly appreciated.
