Hi Rosemary, I think we're looking at over two centuries here. The Mackay and Cunningham partnership was I think 19th century? Patrick Cunningham was 18th - 1713-1783 - and his sons William and Patrick became goldsmiths/jewellers, as did several of their sons likewise. Patrick was a wright (carpenter or cabinet-maker) and was the son of John Cunningham, brewer in Corstorphine, earlier in Edinburgh's West Bow. I recently had information that this John's grandfather may have been David Cunningham of Hieriggs, son to a John Cunningham of Balerno. Does this relate to anything you have info on? Jenny
