Seeking information and contact with other Cunyus descendants, particularly anyone with information regarding the origin of the surname Cunyus. I have information back to Henry Cunyus, son of William and Rachel Conyers (Cunyus) of SC. Henry and brother William were two of appx. seven children of William and Rachel. Henry and William settled in Houston Co., GA, married and started families. William and his family eventually moved to Texas and settled near Longview.
Henry married Mary Brunson first, and after her death Mary Ann Chapman. Daniel Brunson Cunyus, the son from Henry's first marriage settled in Cass (now Bartow) Co., GA, married and raised a large family. Henry's second son by his second marriage, William, attended Emory College, and was an ordained minister, eventually founding the Stilesboro Institute in Cass Co., GA. William married Celestia A. Jennings of Wetumpka, AL in 1850 and fathered nine children: Creed H., Homer J., Ida R., Mary Ann (Mittie); Walter D., Charlie J., Maude C., and Sarah F.

I am very anxious to contact any Cunyus descendants! Thanks!
