I have been doing a little more research on the families I have from Banbridge, County Down, N. Ireland who settled in Fresno, CA. Have found the following connecting surnames: Haire, Wright, Ledlie, Cowan, Fowler, Irwin, Spence, possibly Reed, Ferguson, Findley, Mulligan. These families all arrived in the States probably between 1860 and 1910. Later arrivals came directly to Fresno, CA. Earlier arrivals possibly to Iowa, Ohio. I have just begun trying to piece these families together. Many were members of the Baptist church in Banbridge. I will be corresponding with a man who has written a short church history. Would be interested in hearing from anyone who is researching these particular families either here or in Banbridge.
