Can anyone tell me anything about the Jeremiah Curls. My great grandfather was John William Curl b. 1844 Ohio. Married Delcina Lane in Dewitt County, Illinois in 1879 if I remember right.
Johns parents are supposed to be Jeremiah and Lucinda Curl. I just cannot verify this but would like to be able to.
Jeremiah and Lucinda were said to have at least 5 children. They are supposed to be:
Sarah Delilah; Thomas; Jeremiah; John; ?.
I have the discharge of John from the Civil War but it does not tell a whole lot.
He was supposed to have been held Andersonville Prison Camp in Andersonville, Georgia. I cannot find any record of it. Sent to Washington for info but they had nothing. There is a lot of discrepency here.
Stated that when he came home he was skin and bone from malnutrition and died shortly after. 30 years is NOT shortly after.
John and Delcinas daughter was Rose Nell Curl and she married Alexander Hampton in 1900 Dewitt or Fulton County, Illinois. They are my grandparents.
Can anyone help me on this one??
Thank you and have a nice day :)
Janice Hampton Mercer
