Hi Gerald
My email address is cdonaghey@picknowl.com.au. I have sent you an email, but was unsure as to whether you would get it. Yes, we are definitely researching the same Curl family. And as your grandmother was the only surviving daughter she seems to have been close to her mother.
Eliel died aged 50 in 1875 in Adelaide Lunatic Asylum, poor man.
I am guessing that you are descended from Hilary Guy Howland who went interstate? I can not find you in South Australian phone book. Look forward to sharing information, and I am praying you have some photos of your grandmother.
I am descended from her brother Eli Benjamin Curl md Jane Ellen Short, he was my GG- Grandfather. His daughter Mary Bates Curl bn 1886, md in 1906 Gustav Emil Ludwig Martiensen. Mount Gambier.
I'm in Adelaide.
look forward to hearing from you.
Carolyn
