Actually my line I'm researching now are the Prices of Blount County. My great grandfather was William Freeman Price & 2 of his sisters married Curls: Melvina married James Pleasant Curl and Lucy married John Curl. Both brothers are sibs of the line you mentioned.
1870 census Blount Co, AL notes:
John 50 b. SC
Taletha 49 b. TN

Burl 18
John 17
Pleasant 15
Amanda 13

Isaac 4
All children were born in Alabama. Interestly there was another Curl living next door according to the census:
