FOLLOW-UP: There is a STRONG probability that EDWARD WILLIAMS b. c1740 PROB VA was married to JEMIMAH ANDERSON in PROB VA prior to the birth 1763 of DANIEL WILLIAMS s/o Edward WILLIAMS & BTB Jemimah ANDERSON. Edward Williams researchers are now looking at ALL EDWARD & JEMIMAH ANDERSON WILLIAMS records. The claims previously made years ago concerning an Unknown first wife for Edward & a second marriage c1780 to Jemima Anderson at Boonesborough (now Madison County KY) lack any supporting proof and may be erroneous. At this time (as I continue to research) I lean toward ONE marriage c1762 (based on Daniel's birth year 1763) for Edward Williams to Jemimah Anderson in PROB VA.
Chopawamsic Baptist Church rolls support the presence of EDWARD WILLIAMS & (by default) his family in Stafford County/Prince William County VA in 1767. Jemiah (sic [Jemimah?]) Williams is also listed as a church member...as were Nicholas & Barbara Unknown ANDERSON. Edward Williams & Nicholas Anderson were "attached at the hip" throughout their adult lives until death of both in Montgomery County KY. Dudley & Penelope Williams Curl lived between her father Edward Williams & Nicholas Anderson on Lulbegrud Creek Montgomery County KY. More work is being done on the EDWARD WILLIAMS family every day. Please join us on ekywilliams on Yahoo Groups if you'd like to participate. Lee Strohm Harrell
