I hope you are still watching this forum Carolyn even though your last posting was over five years ago. I have been doing my husband's family tree to leave for our three Curl boys and their families. By joining genesreunited I had covered most of the English side of the story and was moving on to Eliel and Mary our first Australian connection when I was thrilled to find yours and Gerald Howland's messages.
My husband's father was George Curl, son of Eli Benjamin Curl and Jane Ellen Shortt, born in Mt.Gambier 1891 and obviously a brother to your great grandmother who married a Martiensen. My husband knows the names of Howland and Martiensen well from his childhood but could not have pieced the relationships together. I was reluctant to e-mail you first up but would be pleased if you could reply to this message for further contact.
Regards Margaret
