In Reply to: Jeremiah Curl family line from Blount County Alabama, John Lewis, William Henry, by Rioh Pheigh of 949

There are no records showing Telithia, wife of John Curl, as the daughter of William Self and Rebecca Wear. Here are records showing their children.

The State of Alabama -- Blount County -- Personally appeared before me, Solomon Palmer, J P, Rebecca Self, who after being first duly sworn says that record in her possesion and from which the following copy was made is the genuine family record, kept for the entry of Births marriages, &c of the family of William Self, now dead, and Rebecca Self, towit:
William Self & Rebecca Ware were married July 1st, 1811
Sarah Self was born 8 day of Apl 1812
Vincent Self was born 14 day of Oct 1815
Pleasant Self was born 23 day of Apl 1819
Elizabeth Self was born 12 day of Mar. 1820
Wiley (m) W. Self (sic) was born 23 day of June 1822
John N. Self was born 6 day of Nov. 1825
Jesse Self was born 9 day of Oct. 1830
Delia Self was born 3 day of June 1828
Isaac Self was born 3 day of Feb. 1833
Samuel Self was born 17 day of June 1835
Roda A. Self was born 4 day of Apl 1839
Sworn to before me
Rebecca "her X mark" Self
this the 19 day of October 1872, after the same was read over and fully explained to affiant.

This list in her pension file includes all of their eleven children found in other records.

Census records for 1830 and 1840 do not show a daughter who is not identified by the list of their children on Rebecca's pension application.

Census: 1830 AL Jefferson Co pg183; William Self
m30/40 (William 37)
f30/40 (Rebecca 37)

m5/10 (Wm Wesley 8)
m under5 (John N 5)
f under 5 (Deliliah Ann 2)
m under5 (Jesse ?/12 )
[names and ages computed from birthdates on Bible record in Rebecca's pension application]

Census: 1840 AL Jefferson Co pg190; William Self
m40/50 (William 47)
f30/40 (Rebecca 47)
f15/20 (Elizabeth 20)
m10/15 (Wm Wesley 18)
m10/15 (John N 15)
f10/15 (Deliliah Ann 12)

Another reason showing why Telithia could not have been William and Rebecca's daughter:
The 1850 census for John and Telithia Curl shows her as age 24 and born in TN. That would mean that she was born about 1826. William and Rebecca Self were already in AL before that time. Their last TN-born child was Vincent born in 1815. Their first AL-born child was Pleasant born in 1819.
