Hi Dawn
I don't know if I have talked to you or not. My Daddy's g-grandfather was the brother of Edward Curle. John Curle had 4 sons, David, Edward, Norfleet and Cyprian. Norfleet was my gg-grandfather. I know that Edward was a ferryman and died in 1870 from consumption(TB). His brother David died in 1860 of the same thing. Norfleet died in the Civil War in 1862, 3 months before my g-grandmother was born. I have not been able to find anything about Cyprian. I don't know if he died young or went out west. David and Edward were both on the census mortality list, that is how I found out when they died.
The records in Hertford Co. were burned twice so it is hard to research in that county before 1864. Some records were in Murfreesboro and were saved, Some court minutes from the 1840's were saved and I found a record that in 1849 Andrew Lang was appointed guardian of John Curle's sons,David,Edward,Norflet and Cyprian.
