I believe Patience Curnutt was the daughter of David Curnutt (ca. 1775 - ca 1835) and Comfort Hatfield (1788 ca 1875). I have been attempting to pinpoint the parents of David but have not had any success. This David was born in VA and died in Marion County, Tennessee. They were closely associated with the Hatfield Family of the Sequatchie Valley. One source cites Comfort to be the daughter of George Hatfield Jr. and wife Rebecca. After David's death, Comfort lived in Marion County through the 1850s, then down to Walker County, GA on the 1860 and 1870 Census. The family would appear to look like this:

David Curnutt - Patience Hatfield

John b 1808
Patience b. 1812 m. William Brown
Kezziah b. 1815 m. ------ House
Nancy b. 1825
William E. b. 1827 m. Margaret ------

Any Curnutt researchers with a line to our David ???

ps. I am descended through William (Billy) Brown's daughter Barbara, who married Thomas Payne Green, my gg grandfather.
