Further to my recent postings to this site and to Currer family information supplied by Tim Currer.....

I am now trying to track down the descendants of
Robert Edwin Lawton Currer, only son of Edward Currer (1857-1923) & Lilly Lawton (1873-?).

Lilly Lawton was second cousin (once removed) of my paternal (Barron) grandfather. Lilly was the daughter of Sarah Barron (1844-1907) & Edwin Watson Lawton (c1842-1890)
Sarah Barron was half-sister of my g-g-grandfather John Barron (1824-1889).

The Barrons ran a wholesale rag merchants business in Edinburgh in the late 19th/ early 20th Century, having moved from West Yorkshire in mid Century where other members of the Barron family were closely involved in the rag trade.

Robert Edwin Lawton Currer was b.30/09/1908 at 2 Aston Villas, Brustane Road, Portobello, Edinburgh.

Married 31/08/1932 in Edinburgh, Patricia Eileen Monica Burns (1908-1974), daughter of Patrick John Burns & Elizabeth Lavinia Byrne.

He died at Chadwell Heath, Redbridge in 12/04/1980

They had 4 children :-

1. Carole A L Currer b. 2nd qtr 1935 Lewisham
last known living in Canada

2. Gillian P Currer b. 4th qtr 1936 Hendon
last known living in Canada

3. Robin John Currer b. 3rd qtr 1940 at Nuneaton
last known residing in Barkingside, London
Married Diane Stagg with 2 sons Dominic & Nicholas

4. Francis A Currer b. 2nd qtr 1942

If anyone has any further information on this family / these individuals please feel free to contact me.
