Kristen, I just found out this week that I am also a descendent of Edward Currier. (See my posting next to yours regarding "Richard Currier," who I now know is Edward's son.) Thus, I'm trying to track down Edward's parents, too. What is your source for his 1761 Gosport birth? If your local library has access to Heritage Quest via a Proquest subscription, go to their Revolutionary War search page, and search for Edward Currier. There you will find Edward's application packet for a Revolutionary War pension. This includes a certified copy of his marriage certificate and his handwritten testimony as to his war service. I was absolutely thrilled to find this, as I'm sure you will be. In Heritage Quest's 'search for people' section Edward and a couple generations of descendents appear in John Eastman's 'History of the town of Andover, NH'. This book also has a partial genealogy of Sarah Batchelder. Important: I have not independently verified whether this genealogy record is a good one, but it is a start for tracking the family down. Please let me know what you find about Edward & his ancestors. My grandmother always told me that some of her ancestor Curriers were in Ethan Allen's Green Mountain Boys during the revolution, but I haven't looked that deeply into it yet. Best wishes, your (7th or 8th) cousin Peter Notify Administrator about this message?
