I received limited information from another poster about a person who might be the same one you are looking for. This was Peter Gottschall, born 1722 in Germany. Married Anna Catherine Morin in 1749 in Lancaster, PA. The only son I know of is Ludwig, born 1753 in Lancaster. Is it possible Ludwig and Johannes were brothers?
I don't have death information on Peter, or any of his other children. Write me if you need more details.
