I'm sure by now you know that, at the time of the 1911 census, John Henry Graham CUTTS (known as Jack Graham Cutts or, more usually, just Graham Cutts) was married to Lizzie Cutts. He was listed as a "Picture Theatre Manager" born in Brighton in 1885 and she as a "Picture Theatre Pianist" born in West Hartlepool in 1886. He later became a director and Alfred Hitchcocked worked with him for a while. But he was unreliable and sexually promiscious. The most detailed on-line biography is here: www.screenonline.org.uk/people/id/457310/index.html .
In 1926 he had a daughter called Patricia, probably not by Lizzie. She became a film and television actress. Sometimes using other surnames such as Wayne and Graham. She is said to have committed suicide by barbiturate poisioning.
Did you get Graham Cutts's birth certificate? Were his parents Henry Whitmore Cutts and Mary Maud Jackson? If so his grandfather was the Yorkshire-born clergyman Edward Lewes Cutts who was a curate in Coggeshall, Essex, from 1850 to 1857 and an author of many works on Church history.
Robert Cutts, Bristol, UK
