I have found some data from books that I have on Delaware in re the DABBS FAMILY. It is copied from KENT COUNTY, DELAWARE, LAND RECORDS, VOLUME 3, 1723 - 1734, by Mary Marshall Brewer. Page 44 - 214. 28 Nov. 1724. Deed DANIEL HORING of Kent Co planter and KATHERINE his wife, the eldest dau of BENJAMIN DABBS late of same co merchant decd., for 6 pounds sold to JOHN CALE of same place planter ... halfe pt/o a parcell of land a side of St. Jones Cr alias Dover River being pt/o a parcell of land of THOMAS BEDWELL called Holly Neck ... 50 a. which parcell of land was conveyed unto the said BENJAMIN DABBS by one DAVID COGIN by indenture dated 27 Oct 1702 ... DANIEL HORING and KATHERINE his wife constitute WILLIAM RODENEY and BENJAMIN SHURMER of same co gent their attys to ackn and deliver this indenture in open court. Wit: MARK MANLOVE, JOHN RUSSELL. Wit: JNO REES, THOMAS GREEN, SAMUEL CALDWELL, DANIEL HORING received 5 pounds from BENJAMIN SHURMER being the consideration money afsd. Wit: FRANCES ALLEN, ROGER TRAYLOR. Ackn 10 Feb. 1724. EASTER DABBS one of the daus & coheirs of BENJAMIN DABBS late of Kent Co merchant decd for 7 pounds sold to JOHN CALE of same co yeoman ... a tr of land in Murtherkill Hund ... 50 a. pt/o a greater tr of land called Holly Neck and was conveyed unto the said BENJAMIN DABBS by one DAVID GOOGAN by indenture dated 27 Oct 1702. Wit: WM RODENEY, MOSES FREEMAN, THOMAS SKIDMORE junr. Ackn 12 Aug 1727. (I: pg 92) Page 124 - 596. 16 Apr 1726. Deed. DANIEL & KATHERINE HOWRING do appoint my well beloved friend BENJAMIN SHURMER to ackn the [above] deed in open court. Wit: WM RODENEY, THOMAS BROWN. However, since so many names were misspelled in the early days and also, this seems to be in the same relative area, I am going to include the following document in this listing.) WILLIAM HERRING (HERING) of Kent Co yeoman and SUSANNAH HERRING for 6 pounds 10 shillings sold to JOHN DAGG of same place yeoman ... a parcell of land in the forrest of Murderkill Hund s side of Black Swamp ... 85 a. being the lower pt/o a tr of land calld Flee Folly lying along the land called Hazard formerly MOSES WHITACRE's.
