Hello!DId you find any information on the Daceys when you went (a long time ago by now)?We are trying hard to find any information about Timothy Dacey (sometimes spelled Deasy or Dacy) who immigrated to U.S. before 1854.My great grandmother, Alice Lavinia Dacey, was born in LaSalle, Illinois in 1854.We found whom we think is the same family in the 1860 census, but lose track of them after that. Her mother was Ann Ryan and she never shows up.Alice was left in an orphanage by the time she was 11 and her father has never been traced although I do find a Timothy Dacey in Chicago with an Ellen Dacey and 2 young children in the 1870 census. It may be him.
I have heard that the Daceys are common in the Cork area, but have not had any luck finding more out.Hoping you can help!Kathy
