Just to say that the 1851 census was taken on the 31st March, so Mary Mottram could easily have been born after this date and before May of that year, hence 44 in 1851, but this certainly does not prove that William was her father.
By the way, Mary must have either had a twin sister, Martha, or Martha was baptised when she was little older, because they were christened at the same time, the children of William and Elizabeth Daffern.
I have many family trees of the Nuneaton Daffern families sent to me by various researchers, but not one of them has Mary (1806) married. In some trees she is entered as Mary (Martha) but I myself think Mary and Martha were two children.
