Hello Diana

I am now the proud possessor of the marriage lines for my 3 x great grandparents - it came 15 mins ago in the post, see how keen I am!

The certificate for the marriage of John Mottram and Mary Daffern gives them both as full age. She is a Spinster and he a Widow, all as we expected, she was living in Tuttle Hill at the time of the wedding (I must look that up on a map) and her father is given as William Daffern farmer, so it looks like your guess was right!

One of the witnesses was a Samuel Daffern, I am guessing that this was a brother, but I am going off to search now.

Just wanted you to be the first to know

Regards
Louise
