I can tell you that my ggrandfather, Smith Daffron, was a carpenter and came originally from Georgia area. He built many of the original schools and churches in Piedmont, MO, area after transplanting his family to that state.

He was born in Georgia between 1817-1819 (conflicting years at this point). Died in MO in late 1850's.

I don't know much, as yet, about his carpentry. Haven't seen any of it personally.

Would be interested in knowing who it was that contacted you saying this was his ggrandfather. I'm trying to get the family tree together. Thanks so much. god bless.
