My great grandpa john marshall daffron was married to maude salmons in texas several years after the civil war. prior to the civil war there were several daffrons in texas who were older than my great grandpa. after the war only one woman was left in the state. i researched the arkansas daffron's and they did come from texas i believe. the county they lived in arkansas was texas county, which was near the delta. they also similarly were dispersed by the war and most likely moved to north arkansas were there descendants reside today. this was common among landed confederates, that wouldnt concede to the union troops.
