Yes, Gabriel my grandmother was from Texas.The counties I've heard mention was Bowie or Titus. The story I've heard goes that when John Daffron died after the Civil War that his wife Josephine took her 2 daughters and rode horseback to Arkansas.
My grandmother Melissa Daffron was born in 1868. The other people I "talked" to believe that John Marshall Daffron was our John Daffron's father. I don't believe I've heard the the name Maude Salmons. Thank you for your reply to my message. Maybe we are long lost cousins!!
