Depending on when you look for Daffrons. There were quite a few from Indiana that were Union soldiers. My line skipped around the South a lot. There were some of them that ended up in Illinois too. My Grandmother Carrie Caldedonia Daffron Adams(1887-1985)was born in Tennessee. She left some notes that my Uncle wrote down saying that it was believed our line of Daffrons came to Tennessee during the Civil War along with our Bratcher and Eades lines. Although if the history out there is true my line of Daffrons decended from John(b.1761 Fairfax Va.--Rhodys brother)who in 1849 supposedly died in Jefferson Tennessee. But his son George was in Illinois at his death(b.Randolf N.C.)His son John Q. was born in Laurens S.C. I have not established for sure yet if all this is right but I will work on it. But as I have said there were some that were Yankees. You just have to look in the right places. My Grandmothers siblings were in Illinois,Wyoming and Arkansas. There are also some in Alabama. Its funny though I don't have any from Kentucky Yet!!!I am proud of my all Southern heritage. Even though I was born in the North!!HA!
