I do not believe that Elizabeth Daffron (md Bobby Smith 26 Jun 1837) could have been Owen's daughter. She would have been 10 yrs old at the time of marriage.

BTW - I have a copy of the Marriage Bond (Certificate) including the ministers certification of marriage. The names and date for the marriage are:
Boly Smith to Elizabeth Dafron, 29 Jun 1837, Grainger Co, Tenn. (Both names are still mispelled).

- The marriage bond (certificate) was completed on 26 Jun and the marriage performed on 29 Jun by D._ Murphy. (Can you provide the middle initial and denomination?)

- As far as I can determine, the correct names should be: Boley Smith and Elizabeth Daffron. (According to the death certificate for their daughter, Mary Ann Smith, Elizabeth's full name is Sarah Elizabeth Daffron).

- Boley was from Jefferson County, TN. I don't know where Elizabeth was from, possibly Grainger. Elizabeth died before 1870. I don't know where. Boley Smith appears on both the 1870 and 1880 census, Platte Co, MO. with the family of their daughter: James and Sarah Elizabeth Davis.

- On the same page of the 1840 census for Jefferson County, TN are Boley Smith, William Smith, and Moses Smith. I wonder if they are brothers?

Hope this helps.

BTW - I am seeking more information on both these families - Smith and Daffron.
