Dagenhart / Degenhard / Dagonhart and other variant spellings all mean "brave, hardy or strong warrior or hero."Degen = warrior or hero and hard = hardy, brave and strong.
Other variations include Deinhart, Donhardt (Bavaria with an umlaut over the 'o,' Deinert and Dennert.In Austria we find Theindl and
Deini.Low German includes Dehn, Denicke, Dehnecke, Denicke, Danecke and the patronyms Dehning and Dehns.
