"Pedigree Doggett of Groton, Lappage, Suffolk Manorial Families p. 344" from the Preface of "A Supplement to the Section Entitled 'John Doggett-Daggett of Martha's Vineyard'" by George H. and Sidney B. Daggett, Baltmore, Gateway Press Inc., 1974. This shows a Richard Doggett with a son John and a daughter Alice. It also shows John had a son William, who was of Boxford, married Avice Lappage and had a daughter Avis Doggett. Alice married a Lappage and had a son Thomas who was the father of Avice Lappage. So John is the father of William, the granduncle of Avice and the grandfather of Avis. Alice is the aunt of William, the grandmother of Avice and the grandaunt of Avis. At least that's what the relationship calculator tells me.
