A biography of Halver Dahlgren, Dixon, MT, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, page 971. Halver grew up in Sweden, served for two years in the regular Swedish army, and in 1892 emigrated to Warren, MN. He did farmwork in summers and was a photographer's apprentice in the winter; wprked in a hardware store in Warren for about year. He spent nine years working in a general mercantile store in Oregon, MN. He bought out a general store in Northland, MN, and was postmaster of the town for two years. After selling out and visiting in California and Washington, Halver came to Montana in 1916 and became assistant cashier of the Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Dixon. Halver took out a homestead of 160 acres near Dixon and resided on his ranch located 1-1/2 miles west of Dixon. He did not marry. He was the brother of John Dahlgren, a prominent banker living in Missoula, MT. I am not related. Notify Administrator about this message?
