I am a descendant of Jean Deniau and Helene Dodin.Jean Deniau is son of Pierre Deniau and Jeannette Gaudet. He was born/bapt at the parish of St. Croix, Nantes about 1630.
My information is that Jean Deniau and Helene Dodin were killed by Iroquois at Boucherville on 12 August, 1695 and both buried the next day at Boucherville.
If anyone knows more about this could you add your information to the forum.
While finding and identifying ancestors is fine, finding out about the life each one led is great!
I have so far 10 ancestors killed by Indians, one who was taken as a prisoner of war by the Brits and held 6 years at Philadelphia where he married an Acadian girl in 1762, 8 founding families of Detroit, many coureur du bois and voyageurs, and one lucky Pierre Lefebvre captured by the Iroquois who escaped and returned home 3 months later.
Can anyone add to the tale of Jean Deniau and Helene Dodin?
