I have not been able to confirm the Ulster County birthplace, but I have located William on the 1810 Tioga County census, living in Spencer township. Additionally, French's Gazetteer of NYS shows a William Daley as one of the earliest settlers in Dryden, now part of Tompkins County, which is fairly close to Spencer. I'm wondering if these two Williams could be the same person. If any of this rings a bell with anyone, please let me know. Thank you.
