Hi Astra,

Yes, I have seen your website and exchanged email with Bob Dean which provided the children and ancestry of Daniel PALMETER. What I am really after is the next three generations: specifically his son Ebenezer who married Judith PARKE, whether they had a daughter Joanna who married David JOHNSON, and their children. What little I have about Ebenezer PALMETER & Judith PARKE was found on the Web.

b 15 Apr 1697, Stonington, New London, CT
bpt 28 Nov 1697
d 1771 Colchester, CT
m say 1719 - Judith PARKE (b 28 Nov 1693, Preston, New London, CT; d/o William PARKE & Hannah FRINK)
i. Hannah PALMETER - b 22 Aug 1720, Colchester, CT
ii. Ebenezer PALMETER - b 5 May 1723, Colchester, CT; m 1 May 1748 Colchester, CT to Mary --?-- (b 16 Apr 1726 CT); d Jul 1789 Cornwallis, Kings, Nova Scotia
Note: An Ebenezer Palmetter was listed with a group of CT and RI planters who became citizens of Horton, Cornwallis, Falmouth, and Granville in Nova Scotia about 1759. [NEHGR 116:6-7]
iii. Joanna PALMETER - b 9 May 1726 prob Colchester, CT; m 20 Dec 1750 Norwich/Bozrah, CT to David JOHNSON (b say 1725; d bef 13 Sep 1794 Poultney, Rutland, VT).
Note: They supposedly had 7 sons including David Jr (b ca 1767; d bef 1820, Avon, NY; m1 Mehitable; m2 Rachel ?CHAPELL) and possibly my ancestor Capt. Ebenezer JOHNSON (b 9 May 1760; d 8 Aug 1841, Buffalo, NY; m 13 Aug 1783 to Deborah LATHROP daughter of Samuel LATHROP & Sally OAKMAN).
vi. others?

As I said, I am not yet sure of that connection to the Palmeter family. However, another JOHNSON researcher thinks that Ebenezer was the brother of David JOHNSON and that both are sons of David JOHNSON and Joanna PALMETER. Furthermore, Capt Ebenezer JOHNSON named one of his sons 'Palmerter'.

Any additional information you can provide would be most appreciated.

Gratefully ... Kay Schmidt
