I have further research info on my branch of Yorkshire Dalbys.
My g-g-grandfather John Ramshaw Dalby (1822-1911) appears to have been the last child of Robert Dalby and Elizabeth Ramshaw
Robert Dalby and Elizabeth Ramshaw were married at Beverley, East Yorks 02/08/1804
They had an extensive family :-
bapt. 19/08/1805 Beverley, E.Yorks
2. John Binnington
bapt. 14/12/1806 Beverley, E.Yorks
bapt. 15/04/1808 Bramham, Yorks
bapt. 03/04/1810 Thorp Arch, Yorks
bapt. 15/09/1814 Bramham, Yorks
6. Joseph Armitage
bapt. 25/11/1817 Boston Spa, Yorks
7. Robert Ramshaw
bapt. 10/02/1820 Boston Spa, Yorks
8. John Ramshaw
bapt. 14/01/1822 Boston Spa, Yorks
From the baptism places of their children it is clear they moved west from the Beverley area in the East Riding to the Boston Spa/ Bramham/Thorp Arch area in about 1806-7.
I am aware from postings from other Dalbys of concentrations & clusters of Dalbys in the Boston Spa, Collingham and Wetherby areas - perhaps my branch moved back from the East Riding to be close to other Dalby family members in this same area.
I believe my g-g-grandfather John was previously married and widowed prior to marrying my g-g-grandmother Eleanor Johnson in 1870 at Whitkirk Chutch, Yorks. He is listed as a publican of the Red Cow Public House in Whitkirk in 1853
Anyone with information that might tie in with this reasearch or with any of these Dalbys please feel free to get in touch on or off list.
