Found all this information by accident and find it all very interesting so just to throw in something about the New Zealand Dalbys.........I am second of three sons of Anthony Charles Dalby, originally from Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, who in turn is youngest child of deceased Herbert Gardener Dalby, descended from John Sayle Dalby, a sheep farmer who immigated from New Zealand from Leicestershire.

I find the connection to Scandinavia quite intriguing and have also been to Dalby in Sweden. Apparently vikings settled in East Anglia and lived under Danish King Canute, who ruled England for some time.

Looking forward to learning more
