I am interested in the sons of Samuel Dalby, who were all born in Edwards County, Illinois, and moved west.
John Dalby, born 1838, married Lucy Waller of Cincinnati, OH, and settled in Sedalia, MO, in 1874 as a wholesale grocer. They had sons, George L. and John Leroy.
Sugden Dalby, b. 1852, married Nellie Stewart and became a dentist in Lincoln, Nebraska. They had an adopted daughter Emma. Mrs Dalby later moved to Pasadena.
Albert Dalby, b. 1858, became a commercial traveller in Ash Grove, MO, for the Springfield Grocery Company.
Their uncle, David Dalby, born Tong, Yorkshire, England c. 1820, also lived in Edwards County, ILL, before moving away to farm around Montgomery County, KA. Among his children were Frederick, Joseph and Arthur Dalby, and Minnie (Dalby) Wright, married to John W. Wright, physician. The Wrights lived in Elk City, Montgomery Co., KA in 1900.
If anyone has knowledge of any descendants of the above I would be very interested.
