My Gt. Gt. Grandfather, Alfred was a brother of Mary Ridsdale nee Dalby. He was born in Thorner, but left with his other brothers and sister to live in Hunslet, Leeds approx. 1864/5, after the death of their father. The address he gives at the time of his marriage is Rowley Farm. By the 1881 census he is described as a provision dealer and grocer living at 2 Thorner Lane, Thorner. I apologise if you already have this information.
