Hi Nigel,

Thank you for your e mail. I am sorry it has taken me a while to reply.

If you search Thorner graveyard you will find lots of Dalbys'. John Peter's and Frederick's elder brother Richard Herbert Smith Dalby is in the newer part of the graveyard at the top end. Also mentioned on the gravestone is his wife Mary Amelia and his son Richard Herbert Reginald.

Their parents (Richard & Elizabeth), grandparents (Peter & Faith), and Aunts and Uncles are all in the older part. They are all well preserved and easy to read. You will find lots of other Dalbys'. Richard & Grace Gt. Grandparents of John Peter etc. and Gt. Gt. Grandparents Richard & Elisabeth and Henry & Sarah Tarboton (Grace's parents). Other names related in some way to the Dalbys' are Pawson, Labron, Dodgson and Upton.

I went to the A.G.M. of Thorner Historical Society earlier this month and they read out a message which I thought must have been sent by you.

Happy hunting!
